Frivolous Furnishings

This fun little cushion, fashioned in the form of a Petit Beurre biscuit would be the highlight of any tea party!

'Prickly Pair Chairs'- how ironic to design a chair inspired by the last thing anyone would sit on. This quirky take on the classical French oval chair is a product of designer Valentina Gonzales Wohler's Mexixan heritage and European residency.

South Korean artist Lila Jang "turn[s] the traditional idea of furniture literally onto its head". Her creations look like they came straight out of Alice's Wonderland!

Pencil Shavings

Here's a novel subject for design inspiration. Jewelry designer Victoria Mason has created these fun pendants based on the humble and delicate pencil shaving. I love jewelry  inspired by the most unexpected things; so these delicate beauties available in 5 colors at Oye Mordern have shot-up to the top of my wish-list! It's amazing how she has retained the fragile nature of a pencil shaving, regardless of solid sterling silver and enamel composition.

It's a really great gift for anyone artistically inclined! ;)clined ;).

Ornamental Origami

The art of Origami has always fascinated me and countless other creatives I suspect. I remember a time in elementary school when I was obsessed with the art form, spending way too much time trying to figure out the tough ones. There's something about taking something 2D and creating a 3D form using only folds and tucks that is engaging in its simplicity. So this line of origami jewelry entitled Origami Jewelry, by Parisian designers Claire Naa and Arnaud Soulignac had to grab my attention. Their pieces are a perfect marriage of Origami and malleable metal!

They also create bracelets, cuff-links, and earrings; but I personally prefer the pendants.
